Here is a brief statement of accessibility for visitors to Harton Farm. Please feel free to ask us if we have not addressed any of the questions you would like answered.

Pre-arrival

• Tiverton Parkway station is 19 miles away.
• The nearest public transport bus stop is 5 miles distant

Arrival and car parking

• Harton Farm is at the end of a 350 yard tarmac lane and has ample, level parking.
• We are happy to help you with your luggage
• There is a wooden flood barrier 4 inches high, which can easily be pushed aside, in front of the main entrance, and then a step down of 3 inches to the front door.

Ground floor

• The entire ground floor is carpeted with short pile carpet.
• There is a list of emergency telephone numbers just inside the front door by the telephone.
• The entrance hall has a bench seat.
• Assistance dogs are extremely welcome and there are dog towels in a box by the front door.
• Breakfast and evening meals are taken in the dining room, which is a 5 inch step up from the hall. Tables can be manoeuvred. Heating is by woodburning stove, which is managed by your hosts.
• The lounge is down a 1 inch step and has a television with remote control, and heating is again by woodburning stove.
• There is no background music anywhere in the house.

Upstairs

• There are 11 stairs 8 inches deep with a sharp right hand turn at the bottom and handrails both sides thereafter.
• Family room. This comprises a double bedded room, and an adjoining twin bedded room for children which is down a 9 inch step. Each room has its own door, and then there is an outer third door, thus enabling communication between the inner rooms. The children's room is fully carpeted. The double room has a polished wooden floor with bound-edge carpet, two chairs and a washbasin. Access is from both sides of the bed. Heating is by electric convector heater.
• The twin room is up a wooden step 7 inches high. There is ample space round each bed, also a chair and washbasin. Heating is by oil-filled radiator.
• Bathroom. This has wood laminate flooring; washbasin; toilet; bidet; wallheater; and shower over the bath with wall-mounted grab handle.
• A separate toilet has a grab handle on the wall by the washbasin, and wood laminate flooring.
